The Fountain Valley community includes the city of Fountain, and the Colorado Springs suburbs of Security and Widefield . The Fountain Valley community is located approximately ten miles south of Colorado Springs, and just East of the Fort Carson Army Post. Fountain was named “America’s Millennium City” by the New York Times in1999 based on the national census statistics on what American life was actually like at the end of the 20th Century. Fountain was also named an “All American City” in 2002 by the National Civic League.
The Fountain Valley area is rich in local history and natural beauty. In the mid 1800’s Fountain was considered as a site for the State Capital until a huge train wreck called “The Blast” took place in 1888, shelving the idea. Today, with it’s close proximity to Fort Carson Army

 

Post, Fountain is home to many active duty and retired servicemen and women as well as a diverse civilian population.  Situated farther East than Colorado Springs, the Fountain Valley community has amazing views of
Pikes Peak and the entire front range. Fountain typically enjoys a slightly warmer climate and easier driving conditions in the winter because of it’s location on the border of the eastern plains. 


 

The Fountain Valley community offers residents convenient shopping, dining, and amenities. Weekly farmers markets in the summer months support the local farmers. Annual community events include “The Blast” dance, Labor Day Parade, the Harvest Moon Festival and Cowboy Christmas. There are several outstanding local parks including the Fountain Valley Regional Park, and the Fountain Valley Nature Center. These parks provide residents with outstanding recreation opportunities and educational events, including nature and wildlife walks and seminars that are regularly scheduled for residents.
The Fountain Valley community includes the city of Fountain, and the towns of Security and Widefield. Nearby neighborhoods include: Countryside, Cross Creek, Fountain, Peaceful Valley Estates, Colorado Centre, Little Ranches and The Glen at Widefield. This Fountain Valley community is rich in community pride and has access to big city amenities in neighboring Colorado Springs, but embodies and preserves the “small town” community feel that is cherished by residents.
Just outside of Fountain are some of the Pikes Peak Regions’ local attractions, including The Air Force Academy, the famous zoo on the mountain The Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, the regions’ geological treasure the Garden of the Gods Park, The Cog Railway, and the spectacular Pikes Peak Highway.
