Mountain Shadows
The Mountain Shadows Neighborhood is located in northwest Colorado Springs, just north of Kissing Camels, Garden of The Gods and close to Highway 24. Nestled at the base of the foothills, Mountain Shadows has inspiring views of the Front Range and many residents have beautiful city views as well. Styles of homes in Mountain Shadowsare varied, as some homes were built in the 80’s while newer custom-home areas have developed in recent years. Many residents enjoy wooded lots. Sizes are varied as well, ranging from ranch and 2-story, to trendy tri-level and 4-level homes. There are also some condominiums in the Mountain Shadows area. Residents regularly report sightings of local Colorado critters and mountain wildlife, including deer, bear and wild turkeys.
Mountain Shadows has easy access to nearby shopping, with the Centennial Commons shopping center, and several grocery stores, restaurants and shopping areas along Centennial Blvd and Garden of the Gods road. Less than a ten-minute drive from the Mountain Shadowneighborhood is I-25 access, making it easy to reach most any area in town quickly. Mountain Shadows students attend Colorado Springs School District 11 schools. A commute to Manitou Springs or Woodland Park is convenient via nearby Highway 24. The famous Flying W Ranch is located within the Mountain Shadows neighborhood. The Air Force Academy is about a 20 minute commute north. Just to the south is the nearby Kissing Camels golf course, a private course for members. Ute Valley Park can be found to the east of Mountain Shadows, and is popular with area hikers, bikers and runners. Chamberlain Trail and Foothills Trail are also close for Mountain Shadows residents who want to get more acquainted with the great Colorado outdoors.
