Would you like to become more involved in our community, but just didn't know where to start? Here's your chance! YOU can make a difference in a child's life - right here in Colorado Springs. I'm hosting a table for 12 at the CASA Light of Hope Luncheon at noon on Thursday, April 29, 2010 at the Antler’s Hilton downtown. It is a special opportunity to tell you more about CASA and invite your support for our programs. Have you heard of CASA? We are Court Appoionted Special Advocates. and this event focuses on giving hope to the many abused and neglected children here in El Paso and Teller Counties. While stressors about money, work, and everyday life increase, we have seen the number and severity of child abuse reports increase exponentially. Military cases account for over 9% of CASA cases and over 80% of the children served come from low-income families. Lunch is served at 12:30 and adjourns promptly at 1:30pm.
