Norwood Neighborhood Information

Nor’Wood

Located in northeastern Colorado Springs, the Nor’Wood subdivision is located south of the Briargate area. Nor’Wood has nicely established neighborhoods. Subdivisions include Canyon View, Newport Heights, Dakota Ridge and Sierra Ridge, located both east & west of North Union Boulevard. Houses are typically 2-story or ranch, but some tri-level and four-level homes can also be found. These are mostly single family homes and townhomes built in the late 80’s & 90’s, with some newer houses as well. Homes in the area tend to have fenced backyards, hardwood floors and spacious master suites, and some have unique characteristics and amenities such as cathedral ceilings, bay windows and built-in entertainment centers. Nor’Wood residents have great views of both the city and Colorado’s famous Pikes Peak and Front Range.

Nor’Wood residents have access to several nearby shopping conveniences, including the Promenade Shops at Briargate, the Chapel Hills Mall, department and grocery stores along Academy Blvd, and the First & Main Town Center along the Powers corridor. Plenty of restaurants, entertainment and recreational activities are within a few minutes reach. Nearby entertainment options available for movie-goers are the Hollywood Theatre and IMAX and Cinemark 16 Theatre. For sports fans, there is Sky Sox Baseball at Sky Sox stadium. Hockey, shows and concerts are offered at the World Arena.

Residents of Nor’Wood can take advantage of nearby Cottonwood Creek Community Park and Recreation Center. The Nor’Wood Recreation District also has a swimming pool. Many recreational activities are available at the Briargate Family YMCA. The Pikes Peak Greenway trail system is also close by, and offers several options for hikers, bikers and runners. World Famous Colorado Ski Resorts are within a 2 to 3 hours reach. The close-by Briargate area has over a dozen parks available for recreation. Rampart Park in Briargate even has a dog park for your furry-faced friends who need to stretch their four legs!
