Rockrimmon Neighborhood
The Rockrimmon Neighborhood located in northwest Colorado Springs is a unique area with various neighborhoods situated among its many winding hills. Rockrimmon has an “out of the way” feel, yet it is very convenient to big town amenities. The Air Force Academy is a short 10 minute commute north from Rockrimmon. Homes in Rockrimmon vary in size and style, and many have impressive mountain or city views.Rockrimmon has a number of established neighborhoods with mature trees, as well as newer subdivisions, townhomes and condominiums. Styles of homes in Rockrimmon are varied, as some homes were built in the late 60’s while newer subdivisions were developed in the late 90’s. Sizes are varied as well, but are mostly 2-story, tri-level and ranch. Residents often experience local wildlife - from deer and rabbits to many other Colorado birds and animals.
Rockrimmon has a handful of convenient business and shopping areas in the neighborhood that include grocery stores, restaurants and many other necessities. Rockrimmon students attend schools in the acclaimed Academy School District 20.Most areas in Rockrimmon have almost immediate I-25 access, making it easy to reach most any area in town quickly. Several other nearby shopping options surround Rockrimmon, such as The Shops at Briargate to the north, the Chapel Hills Mall to the east, the Woodmen Valley Shopping Center, Woodmen Valley Commons and Corporate Center Drive as well as department stores and grocery stores along several nearby routes including Woodmen Road, Academy Blvd, Centennial Blvd, Garden of the Gods Road and North Nevada Ave.Golfers can try out several nearby golf courses including Gleneagle Golf Course or Pine Creek Golf Course. Golden Hills Park is a nearby park for Rockrimmon residents. Ute Valley Park can be found in the western Rockrimmon area, and is popular with area hikers, bikers and runners. Access to the Pikes Peak Greenway trail systemis also close by. The grand Pike National Forest sits to the west of the Rockrimmon neighborhood.
All the cultural attractions in Downtown Colorado Springs including the Fine Arts Center, the Pioneers Museum, the Bemis School of Art, and the Pikes Peak Center are located within a fifteen minute drive so that Rockrimmon residents can enjoy the rich culture of the Pikes Peak region. Movie-goers can enjoy downtown’s Kimball’s Peak Three Theater, or to the north at Hollywood Theatres, or to the east at the IMAX and Cinemark 16 Theatre along the Powers Corridor. For sports fans, there is Sky Sox Baseball at Sky Sox stadium. Hockey, various shows and concerts are offered at the World Arena. Area residents and visitors can tour the Air Force Academy, Garden of The Gods or the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. If you’re still looking for other options, Denver is about an hour’s commute north. World Famous Colorado Ski Resorts are within a 2 to 3 hour reach.
