Valley Hi The Valley Hi neighborhood is located in the southeast section of the Colorado Springs area. This School District 2 subdivision was established in late 1950s. Many of the homes in this neighborhood were built in the 60's. Additional homes were also built in the 80's and 90's. The neighborhood is home to the Valley Hi Municipal Golf Course which was designed by Henry Hughes and opened in 1958. This neighborhood has a mix of two-story and ranch homes with townhomes and condos mixed in. Larger homes are also found bordering the golf course. With this neighborhood's closeness to the Academy Blvd and the Powers Corridor, there are many opportunities for shopping, restaurants, entertainment and activities. To the North of Valley Hi is the Park Hill neighborhood. East, you will find the Gateway Park neighborhood and the southern end of the Powers Corridor. To the South is the Pikes Peak Park neighborhood. West of Valley Hi is the Downtown neighborhood of Hillside which is home to Memorial Park & Prospect Lake. For commuting, Valley Hi is convenient to many destinations. It is estimated to be between 10 and 15 minutes to Ft Carson, Petersen AFB and the Colorado Springs Municipal Airport. The neighborhood is roughly 20 to 25 minutes to Schriever AFB, and about the same amount of time for the commute to the U.S. Air Force Academy.
